Volunteering on Film Nights
To screen our fortnightly movies we rely on a dedicated group of volunteers. We are always looking for new helpers so please consider joining our volunteer team. You will be working with a great bunch of people. We look after our volunteers by providing rewards: free meals, free drinks, free entry.
Consider any of the following tasks:
Hall Set up /Pull down : Set up/pull down furniture on film nights and assist with dining duties and clearing tables *
Door Person: Assist the Event Manager before the doors open, collect tickets, count patrons, issue passouts before the film starts and assist with washing up/clearing of Tea and coffee at the end *
Ticket Sales: Sell tickets to members and temporary members from the box office; reconcile ticket sales *
Tea and Coffee Table: Assist with tea and coffee table and wash up and clear away at the end of the night *
Membership Table: Promote memberships to patrons entering for film nights, sign up new members and renewals; help with washing up after the film. *
Slice Maker: Occasional baking of slices for Tea and Coffee table**
Film Selection: Serve on Film Selection sub-committee for one year and help choose films for the voting form three times each year
Reviews: Write film reviews for the Newspapers and other publications
* On your rostered film night you will be provided with your meal, your drink and entry to the session. Saturday Matinee volunteers can stay for the meal after their session on Saturday. Sunday matinee volunteers will receive 1 tickets with 12 months validity (in lieu of dinner) + 2 drinks and entry to the movie
** Slice makers: Slicemakers who make 2 trays of slices receive 2 film tickets with 12 months validity + $15 for supplies,Slicemakers to make 1 tray of slices receive $8 for supplies + 1 film ticket with 12 months validity.

MFS carries Public Liability Insurance to the sum of $10,000,000 and voluntary Workers Policy covering injury and travel to and from the event.
